Makes sense. I'm not going to implement it into Max Vector as the game is finished and has been submitted. It'd just be too much work and I need to move on. I WILL use these tips for the games I've just started, though!
Wish I'd known all this as MV slows a little at times even on my 3G iPod Touch... still very playable and I get away with it as it actually adds to the "retro" feel but I would like it to be smoother during boss battles.
Like Joe said, I've used different actors for EVERY BG! The thought never crossed my mind not to. It is my first game though and it's all a learning experience... might have a play around for the "LITE" version.
