Min spec for upgrade

Hi guys,
Sorry to bother you all with this.
I know that we need to upgrade (which is totally fine as things do move on) however, could I check with you all (I'm not really that tech savvy when it comes to computers/operating systems), this is my current set-up, would I be able to instal Lion or Mountain Lion on this machine, or do I need to buy a new one.
My current spec is:
Apple Mac Mini Intel Core Dui 1.66Ghz
OS X Snow Leopard
1Gb Memory (no problem to upgrade this as I think I read somewhere that it needs to be 2Gb minimum)
