I would like to suggest a very easy change. Remove the mandatory splash screen timer in pro. Even if the screen is black it is still a delay that the user has to endure. I dropped $300 expecting this ability and have been disappointed that is not there.

Why don't you use that delay to put in your own splash screen and promote your company? (That delay also incorporates game loading time, which can be minimized with efficient rules and unchecking "preload art") Its standard for mobile apps.

I am just suggesting that the use of a splash screen not be mandatory, not asking for suggestions on what I can do with the 7 second delay. Load times are an important feature of an application and should never be artificially lengthened with a splash screen place holder. In fact several years ago gamesalad advertised with a video how they had reduced load times from 22 seconds to 4 seconds in 2009.

Now we are up to 7 seconds and I believe artificially so.

i dont think that is a mandatory timer, it's the engine loading in the background before loading your game.

Yep its all in your code how long that first load screen takes. Granted there is a minimum time I believe of a couple seconds. because in the past users have experienced their games loading so fast the custom splash screen was not up long enough to even read it. If you want that black screen to go by faster your very first scene needs to be much much smaller so there is less to load.

I can assure you they don't have a mandatory 7 second delay. In fact my last game ( just tested this) has a max of 3 seconds before the first scene loads which has a large animated intro in it that fires right off the bat.

I'd say its back to the optimizing board for you.

I always put the word "loading" somewhere on my custom splash screen......cos that's what it's doing.
