Amazing the money that the freemium games are earning O.o

Although I think it been pretty clear for a while that freemium games were the games making the most money, the fact that angry birds is in the top paid charts but not in the top grossing doesnt really prove much. The games that make it into the top paid charts are not necessarily the games that are purchased the most because apple algorithm for the top paid also heavily considers actual usage of the apps in addition to number of purchases. Thus if you have good (but not phenomenal) number of purchases but your purchasers actually play your game 24/7 you can move up in the paid rankings. Thus, paid rankings is not actually a ranking based on the number of purchases during a given time frame. It includes many other elements as well.
