Constraining direction of animation based on mouse direction

I am navigating a character through a maze and have an aerial view of an animated png sequence.
I am trying to always get the sequence to face in the direction that it is running.
How do I setup up the rules and attributes? Thanks.

    I need it to be linked to the player's mouse/touch position as the character is being guided through a maze.
