Sound/Music?

Sorry for bothering again, but I've got some problems with the "difference" between "sound" and "music". In all videos and tutorials I found that there's an "audio"-section besides "Images" that once seemed to make a difference between music-files (ogg-format) and sound-effects (MP3-format?). But it seems to me that this has changed: All I can find is "Sound" instead of "audio". I imported an MP3-file containin my score instead of sound-effects (just for experimenting with it, I wanted to imported the soundfx afterwards)… and I can play it by selecting "Play Music", but not with "Play Sound".
Problem A: I tried to change it's volume by using the device-audio-attribute, but it didn't work out… no matter if I tried it with the music- or sound-effect-attribute.
Problem B: What the heck is this "Play Sound"-command for? oO I can't select any effect with it (wrong format or file-extension perhaps?) It only says "no value"…
Hope, anybody can helpt. Thx!

Hi, first to say, you've got the formats the wrong way around: music files are m4A and sound files are ogg.
Next to say, it's probably best to import one of the standard formats – aiff or wav, or slightly less quality, mp3 into GSC; not only will you get the choice of whether or not you want music or sound, it will change the format accordingly for you (i.e to m4a or ogg depending on which you choose).
Your prob. A: changing volume of sound or music should be no problem using the Device attribute providing the value is between 0 and 1
Your prob. B: Play Sound behaviour is just that.... to play a sound! You have to have sounds imported into GSC for any to show up in the drop down list.
Sound is usually best chosen if the track is less than 30 seconds long; anything longer, then select Music. Be aware, although you can play as many sounds you want at the same time, you can only play one music track at a time at runtime.
