Demos of basic game mechanics

Some one was asking about a swinging rope for platform. I'd also be interested in seeing "Snake" or "Centipede" style mechanics as well as other classic styles such as "Q*Bert", "Dig-dug", "Frogger", "Galaga", "Missile Control", "Shootin' Arcade" or other antiques.

Does anyone have the basic logic?

    There are some examples in the Templates section for the kind of games you're asking about.

    However, all the titles you mention are different, so there won't be 'one' basic logic.

    I guess start with player movement, player shooting, then enemy placement, enemy movement. That should give you the basics.
