Why cant i add pictures to actors?

i have tried all the file types i can think of, and i cant seem to drag any photos in. (the files i would like to use are jpeg.)
What kinds of files does it accept?

You would want to use .png images.

And do you mean importing the images in the program, or from the program into the actor?

As @carlblanchet says, you can use pngs but also jpegs and even psd files (at least, you used to be able to); and possibly a few other file types as well (GSC will convert all to png).

But... dragging in has been disabled now - don't know if this is a permanemt feature or temporary - so you'll need to import using the + button.

i have almost the same problem , i'd use gamesalad for windows and i can't drop a image into the scene screen , it's mean i take the "actor" from the actor tab and drop to the screen and nothing's happen i dont see anything BUT the instance tab appear! ... i dont know why :..

I cant seem to drag in ANY kind of file and the + button is disabled (shaded out) any ideas?

Ahhh dont worry i figured it out! Thank you all for your help

@Lavigha Are you sure you are in Library / Images / (Project) ? The + at the bottom left shouldn't be faded.

I am having same problem, I cannot even duplicate any actor by pressing alt button. Neither I can drag any actor onto screen.

This is very weird.
