Inbox shows new message, but there isn't one

For some reason, my GS forum "Inbox" is showing "1" new message, but the only messages in there are old ones. Is there a way to fix this?

Yeah man. I bet a spam bot PMed you then a sous or head chef banned him and the message isn't showing up. Contact SSS. He'll take care of it for ya.

Thanks. FYI, it's still there (and has been there for days). Not a huge deal...
So people are sending spam through PMs now? How annoying.
