Hi. I have submited my app for iPad. Now I want to do the same but for iPhone. How can I do it if I want to use the same name for my app? Can i add my iPhone version to the iPad one to aviod problems? I tried to submit with the name "my app name FOR IPHONE" but itunes connect rejects my submission.

Kind regards

I add HD to my iPad game version. Which I think is a common way of doing it.
  • hmm it's nice way but i have already submitted my iPad version. Moreover it's without HD. Can i change it to "my app name HD" and release name "my app name"?

Yeah we came across this with our very first game as well. This is a great example of knowing what you want to do before you do it. Itunes Connect does not allow you to change the name after it has been created. The only way to change it, would be to completely take it down, delete it and start over again. If you have already had it reviewed and approved then this isn't really a great option. But if it has not been reviewed yet, then you might want to consider it.

We released our first app as an ipad app, with just the name. Then 2 weeks later we tried to release the same app for iphone with the same name and found out we were in the same problem you have now. Now we always throw an "HD" at the end of the title for all ipad apps, to steer clear of this problem.

Yeah, so as said before,, In future, it would have been best to name your app... Appname HD (for ipad) then just Appname for Iphone... and as you found out already you don't have the right to say 'for ipad' or 'for iphone' in the title.. If it is too late to update the name of your Ipad version,, then I would add HD in the title of the Iphone game...
