    My confusion is to why provisioning is necessary in the first place. Oh wait no It's not, because it isn't!

    Thanks for the tutorial though. Also thank you for stressing the regenerating thing at 8:50. Hopefully people will watch this before making their first app and we will have less people wondering why they can't see their provisioning profile (myself included).

    If your device is jail broken then no but otherwise yep you need it.. It's how Apple keeps you from spreading unapproved apps that haven't been tested for little bits of nasty code. But as to needing to create app IDs for every app you test no you only need team ID. I only make an app ID when I do a distribution.
