A few people have posted that they test their games via this method. I'm having some issues and am not sure what is causing it so thought I'd give it ago.

I am hitting numerous issues trying to link to my game on the my iPhone.

Can anyone out there provide any tips (big or small) on how to test a gamesalad project with instruments.

Best Regards.
Lee.

I open xCode, go to organizer, and let my iPad have a conversation with organizer (i don't know what they talk about)...
After that I publish an ad-hoc build of my game for iPad, and sync the app with iPad via iTunes.
Then I launch instruments, select the template from iOS (not the simulator)
I usually use Leaks, Allocations or Activity Monitor depending on what I'm looking for.
Then I select my iPad from "Choose Target",
That same drop down will then display a list of installed apps on your iPad, select your app as the target and press record.

Its worthy to note, I have not found the info from instruments to be useful for very much.
Its basically a more complicated process to get a more detailed view of how your application is consuming resources.
GS Viewer reports RAM usage, and that is just fine for most people.

Thanks for the reply. I got it to work in the end with your help. Looks like I need to look elsewhere to resolve my issues as after an hour the memory usage went from 35 to 43 mb which although is a slight increase. Certainly not what I was expecting given the strange results I have been getting.

I clearly need to be a little more scientific in tracking down the cause of the issue.
