Using ios as an external controller

Is there any way imaginable to make an app that turns your ios device into a controller of sorts?
Something that can send your computer messages, maybe even CC data? as in midi?

Or even qwerty keyboard input data? Would be a nice starting point.

At the moment there is no way to do that with GameSalad

Right, not with Gamesalad but it could likely be done with other tools.

I would not recommend any game engine for this type of application. Doable, but you'll want to think about doing this with interface builder and ObjectiveC
