Buying powerups and use them?

Hi!
I'm mostly playing around with gamesalad for now but I really would like to know how to make power ups.
I have a store where you can buy different power ups and when you buy any of the power ups I want them to be able to work in-game. For example, if I buy a "faster shots"-power up, I want my character to shoot faster. And after I've bought the power up it should stay permanent.

You would need to make a game level boolean attribute and set it to true when the power up is purchased. Then when you're playing the game check if that attribute is true or false, if it is true go to your player shooting fast code, if it is false go to your player is shooting slow code.
