Hello GameSalad Community,

I have been lurking around your forums for quite some time now :), and I'm really impressed with the community aspect GameSalad has established. What really drew me in is the sheer FREEDOM GameSalad gives the indie game community and I want to be part of it.

My name is Mike Austin and I'm the owner of the Vector tutorial site Vectology.com http://bit.ly/PGmQoO and I would like form a partnership with the GameSalad commuinity and Vectology.com.

The main focus of Vectology.com http://bit.ly/PGmQoO is to take you from Novice to Ninja with as little headaches as possible:).

    That's so cool. Getting to know GameSalad has me thinking of some great art tutorials for GameSalad devs.

    Whoa, that is some serious art! Incredible. Good to have more artists here on the forums, and since art is such a huge factor in getting games noticed any art tutorials you make would help a lot of people here, welcome!

    Thank you so much for your comment. In the beginning I had many problems posting my artwork on vector sites.

    Yeah, I totally see why! Your art really does have a raster feel to it. Seems to me you've made a couple of very significant breakthroughs in Illustrator method. 1) The combination of opacity 0-100% object blends, blend moded, and manipulated with warp tools; and 2) Swapping out vector and raster versions of the art via Symbols.

    Seriously, I watched a tut of yours earlier and said "well, I just got schooled in Illustrator!"

    I'll be using some of that stuff in work right away, Mike. Good stuff.

    Very impressive art! Can you mimic artistic styles? For instance, if I already had most of the art for a game, would you be able to mimic the style for the rest of the art?

    @Quire Glad to see your studying my stuff! The next phase of Vectology.com will be more of a classroom like setting where I will give assignments and give personal critiques to each student.

    Most people only seen work like that in Photoshop. I've told many friends that Illustrator is just as powerful, if not more for making art like this. I just had no talent to show them that it could be done. Maybe now I will.
