Accessing custom scene attributes?

I'd like to set up some attributes that will change per scene. So, I go into Scene > Attributes > and add an integer attribute.

However, when I go to create a Rule or Behavior, I cannot access it. All I see is Game, Device, and the Actor's attributes itself.

Am I missing something, or are we not able to access such attributes?

Only Instances in the Scene can access Scene Attributes. The Prototype cannot.

You have to click the padlock.

I usually make one "Scene Controller" actor. Just a simple box that sits just offscreen in every scene. It's prototype does not have any code.

This actor "resets" the level. It sets the current level number, number of cats, bombs, blocks, etc...

Maybe someday we'll get inheritance... then such things would not be such a pain!

Thanks, FMG. I did just that. I've named the Actor the "little birdie."

Also, if all of your scenes have the same scene attributes (with different values) you can create a My Behavior that will save your rules with scene attributes. However, this doesn't always work... but it works most of the time, every time! :)
