Loading High Score

Hello GS community,

Will like to seek your kind assistance in an issue I am facing.

I am following a tutorial from on how to save and load my high score even after closing the app.

However, every after I quit my preview in GameSalad, my highscore history is no longer there. Any idea how to fix it?

have you created an actor that loads your highscore key? If you have you will have to drag it into the first scene of your game

Yes I have.

Hmm, I've placed an actor in my screen. When touch is pressed, it will restart the game. And my high score managed to load.

However, if I quit game salad, or close my preview and activate it again, the score gets deleted.

Is it normal?

I just tested one of my games that saves highscores and they always go back to 0 in the viewer but they work on my iphone, do you have a device to test it on?

This is because the gamesalad preview does not save and load attributes for building purposes. Once you are testing your game on your device with gamesalad viewer or after it is published, it will save and load the attributes causing your highscore to remain.
