hi my game just got approved and is in the store, my game file is 15.5mb and the zip file that i get when publishing was 28.2m and right now i checked my game in the store and it says that its size is 27.mb, why is this happening i mean i reduced the quality of my images so my game is not that big but in the end it gets bigger, and this totally sucks because my iPad game file is 44.3mg but in the stores is showing 83.1mb please tell me i did something wrong.

It appears that you have RESOLUTION INDEPENDENCE checked ON in your project. Go to your project and go to the main summary tab where you title the game and give description etc. I bet you'll see a check mark next to resolution independence.

Btw- resolution independence is a good thing! It makes duplicates (lower res) of your images. Therefore devices that do not have capabilities to display your higher res images (older iphone 3gs, etc) will be able to display and load your lower res versions of those same files. Meaning better performance. So it makes sense why you're seeing double the size.

hi yes it is checked because i need it to work on high resolution devices but since the images are already big i just think it should just use the big image for hd and for regular phones i guess the program it self needs to reduce the image in half so i still don't think my game should be double the size, my game is call Doodle Spelling ,is for kids i will post some links later, do you have a game in the store that is twice the size?

I'm telling you that's most likely the reason. Resolution independence creates duplicates. It keeps your hd graphics but also makes a lower quality version for older devices as well. I don't have a game in the store yet (soon). However i've done a lot of homework on resolution independence and i can tell you that this is most likely your issue.

To do a test publish an ad hoc of the game without resolution independence. See if your file size comes down. It should.
