Ok so I'm making a game. Iv got the move controls. There not bad but ill fix them later.

What I need is circle pad on the right had side of the screen.
You move your finger around the circular pad. As u move ur finger a little circle inside follows your finger movement. Now what ever way your facing your finger is where the bullet will fire. How can I do this?

So if I want to fire up I move my finger up on the circular pad.

If I want to fire right. The same deal.

And the bullets start to fire when your touching the circular pad.

Please help. I realy need this! Thanks!

Take the position in the center, and use the position tapped to form a right triangle. Use this to calculate the angle of the bullet. Then apply to the actor that you want. The SOHCAHTOA formulas can be found on this page. http://www.mathsisfun.com/algebra/trig-finding-angle-right-triangle.html

There is a link to download the project right below the video. Download it and check out how it works.

It doesn't work with the newest version of gamesalad.

I open it up and it says no project file was found. And there are no images in the project file through gamesalad. :(

I just downloaded the project right below the video and it seems to work fine. (Using a Mac.)

Also, you might want to look at the 'Official Cross-Platform Controller Template' found in the GameSalad Launcher. It has what you are looking for, and its 'Official'.

I'm using a pc on windows 7. It's realy annoying why doesn't it work? Caus what I do. Is go Into the project file And I change it without a converter. So it will work with windows.

Hmm.... well that explains a few things.

I'm afraid that I don't have any experience with the Windows version of GS -- so I can't help you there.

I understand that a new version is due out within the next week or two. My suggestion would be to hang tight and see if the new version allows you to download the 'official' template. That way you can get to work on other aspects of your game(s) now and wait until you have access the template. Its frustrating to wait, for sure, but its even more frustrating to see that you could have saved yourself from wasted time and effort when you will just be able to plug in the official controller template. (Just my two cents!)

I'm afraid I don't have any Windows experience either, I'm a Mac user.

However I do believe there is an ad/offer on gshelper.com that tshirtbooth can convert a Macintosh template/demo to a Windows file for you. You might check that out if you don't want to wait for the next update of Gamesalad.

The offer is right under the search box on the homepage.

@RThurman the windows version of GS is excellent.Very User friendly. not as responsive as mac.
Does anyone know how to Incorporate ZOOM to this template. I Tried To interpolate the controls size and pos (as HUD actors) during zoom. But there is a constrain position a mile long On the joysticks.
