Smash Bros Like Game

Is there any way to make a fighting game in the style of Super Smash Bros and PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale? I am new to GameSalad and making a game like this and having it in the App Store is my ultimate goal!

Yeah if you are going to do all this in 2d.

note that you cannot do multiplayer with gamesalad unless its all on the same device (local)

On top of what was stated above, gamesalad is not good for artificial intelligence. Therefor you won't be able to have computer enemies fighting you like in super smash bros.
  • AreaGames: I do indeed intend to make the game in 2D.
    Floydianspiral: Noted.
Carlblanchet: THAT, is where my problem begins.

You can pull cpu off in gamesalad but it is hard

You actually can't pull CPU off in gamesalad, you can only program your own algorithms in to make it seem like pseudo AI
  • So, basically, is it at all possible? Even if it takes a long time with great difficulty. And IF it is possible, is anyone able to help? As even though I am new, I can't find any tutorials that help make a fighting game, and don't wish to use templates. I guess I should learn my way around the entire program first, I just want to know if this game is possible. Thank you all for helping by the way.

the problem with this is that it will ONLY be one player. and it WONT be online. so while u can make a game like this, and even if it IS awesome, it will have limited fun factor. i was gonna make a fighting game with gamesalad but these factors are hindering the experience u know?

I have been using GameSalad for 3 years now and I wouldn't attempt to make something like that. As a beginner, you might want to start with something a little more simple. The other problem is that right now, no portable device would be able to run it. You would be limiting your market to just computers. Even without Lau, I don't think it would be worth the effort.
