what signing error

just a quick question,wondered if anyone can help. when i upload my file i get from gamesalad,it comes back fine im careful to upload the distribution certificate,so when i get it i compress it to zip file try to upload to apple and get the error cant find code signing.i checked and it's the .app file i need and all my cert. are correct both devel. and distrib. what signing is apple looking for and where can i check on my computer to verify that i have the right user names passwords etc. etc. any and all help will be appreciated....
