How to reduce the black screen displayed before app launched

Hi All,

We have released an app to apple, and it has been accepted and being sold. However, we have noticed that the build when launched (a hard launch, where it hasn't been running before) starts by displaying a black screen for about 14 seconds before getting to the main app page.

Is this a common issue with GS?

Is there a way to reduce this time from 14 seconds?

    This is just the app loading and depends on the size of your app. To reduce the time you need to reduce the size of your app which could mean just changing the format of some of your pictures.

    I find the solution of reducing the file size of the Art in the first scene being loaded to be inaccurate in my own apps - in all of my apps, the first scene is a my company logo animating (interpolate Alpha from 0 to 1 and interpolate size from X&Y+50 to X&Y size) along with a simply copyright line. After a 2-second count, the game then loads the next scene, which is the game title screen (Start, Options, etc.) I've noted that there's a distinct 3-5 second black screen from when I tap the App icon to when the animated first scene appears.
