Hey guys!

This is my first title that has become a serious project of mine, i thought I would make a thread about the progress and post some art if you guys are intrested. I would really like some feedback as it will help me work harder to release :)

Ive allways wanted to make a horror game and ive allways wanted to use 2d pixelartImage and video hosting by TinyPic

Remember that the art is in the " beta stage" and will be more detailed later at release :)
Please leave some feedback and try to forgive my half-bad english

Looks great. I love the art style, I've been thinking of making a pixel art game so I'd definitely check this out when it's released.

I like screenshots but really don't like "one life story. One chance only! No save/ load "

aww you dont?. Its not like you have to redownload the game :)

I wanted to do a series of chapters, with like 30 minutes (or more) gameplay, if you get captured you loose. I think thats an element making it more scary when you get chased down the corridors :)

    Thx for the feedback :)

    @ToastedUnicorn: Art looks amazing!!

I have to agree with imGua - I think you should have save/load more frequently than every 30 minutes, or as fabulous as your game may be, gamers may get frustrated, and not make further attempts at playing. Not like the good ol' days of gaming, most need instant gratification, and the ability to save, save, save!

    Looks fantastic though!

I kind of like the one life idea. It will keep players coming back and playing the game to try beat their last record. If the game had saves it would be too easy to finish and people would most likely delete after completion. That's just my opinion though.

Very cool, you haven't been inspired by slender man have you :)

But 30 mins is too long to have to restart in most app games, but if you find away that works then you are the one laughing. All the best with it all
Can't wait to see how it turns out :)

Thanks for the feedback guys! Love it :)

Ill definatly check out options around saving/non saving.

    Maybe 1-2 checkpoints instead?
  • ElfizmElfizm Member Posts: 489
Or maybe have two or three stages in each chapter, so there is the beginning, middle and end or something, just a thought, each stage is a check point.
    Good luck

Looks and sounds like an interesting game.

Is it a primarily game with collisions/hazards where the player can die?

Or more of an adventure/puzzle game where you don't die but have to solve things or make choices?

More like a puzzle game with alot of puzzlesolving and cluehunting :)

but there is stuff you should really be scared of

Ok, the reason I ask was because of the thoughts on saving/checkpoints or '1 chance only'.

If the player has multiple paths maybe it would be interesting to make their choices permanent.

So for example, after finding a key maybe they have a choice of 2 doors. But they can only choose 1 and once they do, that's it, no going back.

So this would add a layer of immersion by making their choices more 'important'.

You could have 3 different player profiles so they can play the game again but make different choices.
