One big table or many small tables?

In terms of game resources and speed, is there any difference between using one big table that has 1,000 rows or 10 tables that each have 100 rows?

I asked a such question recently, and was answered by GLGAMES:
"I prefer multiple tables if you want easy management and to consolidate similar data together instead of looking through one table with massive data size."
