THE DREADED LOAD WHEEL

Hi, even on iphone 5 with insanely simple 1 image 1 line of text I'm experiencing a second or so of load wheel in between scenes. This isn't a big deal, if only I could mask the ugly wheel. Or replace it.

I even tried to go as far as to look into GS package contents to find the wheel animation, but for some reason can't locate it. Anyone had any luck at doing that? Or finding a work around, I notice some people on here have implemented work around but just haven't said how ;)

Thanks guy, super useful community here

when your publishing your game and uploading it to your portfolio you can change the loading image to whatever you like.

Oh, sorry, I don't mean the splash screen, I mean the loading jog wheel.

Creating a loading page so it distracts the user who will not notice the loading wheel.

really? distracting the user from something on screen seems a little, counter intuitive. There must be a way to alter the app or mask it. I never see these in final published apps. :/

@camgoold - they're often in larger games or games slower to load, for whatever reason. The load wheel is an Apple requirement to show the game is active but in a load state.
Glad you mentioned that. I've always wondered that myself, because I see it in some apps that are definitely not made with gamesalad.

depends. A good graphics can always attracts, I am using it to display promo codes, news about my other apps and other features. Actually thats the best way to promote my games without displaying them as ad.

Yes, checkout a game called zombie farm 2, it has same loading wheel, I thought first it was made in GS but doesn't look like. Actually its using the same distract technique when the loading wheel appears.

Yep, games can do that well, like Mega Run, it has instructions in between scenes telling you how to play or what to strive for. Make it a feature like that. Intermission indie game style.
