Overscan

Hey everyone. Not sure if this is the right place to post this discussion but I'm a bit confused on this new overscan feature coming out. For instance ive been working on an iphone game for a while now and i'm curious what this new overscan feature option will do for my game. I'm sure there might be some others who are equally confused on the matter. Any insight or explaination would be phenomenal. Many thanks! And even though i don't understand what overscanning is- it does sound awesome! Hehe

    I'm a bit confused too. It says overscan will zoom the game so it fills the whole screen. But what if you're working on a 960x640 game and run it on 1136x640? It will zoom to fill 1136px width and if I understand correctly if you have an actor on top border (pos.Y around 320) it will be hidden after zooming. Or I didn't get the overscan feature right?

    unfortunately I fear that the overscan function in a different way ... I do not think the screen is zoomed ... I believe that it is necessary to realize a screen larger than the standard iPhone resolution.... On iPhone5 is displayed completely ... on iphone4 is cut ... I think it works, in practice, as the overscan of the TV... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overscan

    I hope I'm wrong ... but they said it is aspect ratio independent ... so I doubt that overscan using the zoom.

    @Primo.TM
    okay. excellent ... in this case, I am concerned about two things:
    - Display fonts ... I hope not too blur ...
    - I need to change the game to predict the zoom area...

    since I'm reviewing the graphics of my game (a port on iPad) ... I put on standby awaiting the official release of version 0.10.1

    When 0.10.1 comes out the webinar will go into detail about overscan. It's a great feature.
