Hack n slash character animation

we are making another game about well the above , anyways it would really help if someone could point us in the right direction of how to make combos like you mash button "A" and you do different combos with your sword to kill your opponent, i need some refrences or some cycles to make the character do those things in game ... how do professionals do it by the way ?

i am not actually talking about how to do it i am talking about how to draw it ! .. ill ask bout doing after ive actually drawn it

haha i know but what i want is something like walk cycle references but for fighting combos or something like that if possible

thank you very much for that link if been watching alot of those tutorials lately , but what i would like is a refrence to some good sword fighting combos that i can have a look at and than make an animation
