Anyone else found this with the Resolution Independence

Ok

I read on the forum that Resolution Independence is only for the mac which makes a lot of sense to me now.
I'm using the GameSalad creator on a windows laptop so when I click the Resolution Independence, it does absolutely nothing for me.

If I import my 960 x 640 image into the creator, it will stay that large instead of automatically scaling it down for me.
And if I scale it down manually then the image would look crappy when I click "Test".

If anyone knows how to fix this, can you post how.

I'm on Windows and have no access to a Mac. before I upgrade my account I just want to make sure I can use everything on a windows computer.

@jonmulcahy I'm going for strictly iPhone and iPad for now. If it's for only mac, how can I get my images to fit and still look nice?
I tried manually resizing but that makes my images look sloopy =(

The resolution independence down scaling happens at publish time on the publishing severs. So, on windows you need to check the resolution Independence check box and any art you add to the project is considered the retina art. Then at publishing when your iOS (iPhone, iPad) app is generated on the web publishing servers the server will down scale the art for you. Note you will need a mac to sign the iOS app.
    Hope this helps

Are you sure that your actor is the correct size? Your image size should be 960 by 640, but your actor size (in gamesalad) should still be 480 by 320.

@blackcloakGS ok cool so let me make sure I get this right.

I can continue making the game, and yes my background images are 960 x 640.
Even though I'm manually rescaling them on my own for now just so I can edit, once I connect to a Mac and publish it. It will all still look nice?

@camelcase yeap, my background images are 960 x 640 and my characters are smaller.

@charliehgreen As long as 960x640 is you retina art then yes every thing should work.. You only need the mac to sign the iOS app. Every thing else can be done in the windows creator. Even uploading the project to our publishing severs. Just make sure resolution independence is check for the project in windows creator.
