new user needs help with Randoms doors.

Hello guys,

My name is Vitor, I'm from Brazil and it's great to be here! meet you all and learn about gamesalad.
I am creating 2 games with GameSalad, the first one, I'm doing well, I found everything I need in the support material. I watched videos and has a lot of information here in the forum. but the second game, I'm with a little problem. the idea is that random ports appear to the player, and behind each door ,may have randomly different items. I already could do, the doors randomly appear, but I can not define what will get behind each of them.

did someone help me?

Thank you guys!!

    Welcome, Vitor.

How did you make the random doors work? I would think you could do the same thing for the items. Is there a reason the same rules won't work for both?

Hi Tatiang, thanks for you help.

well, i guess yes , but when i generate the 3 doors, by some how, what i dont figure out, i need generate randomly, one item for each door, and this item can't repeat. the doors always must have differents itens. after that i have to save this information na tabela.

i think, Now I could explain in a better way!!

    thanks!

Thank you, very much tatiang, i think this will help me!! so , what do you recommend in this case to the actor, it would be better to use the same actor 3 times or 3 different actors?

    thanks!

It's really up to you, but it's often useful to keep similar things as a single actor. So if you have a bunch of doors, you use a "door" actor and if you have a bunch of items you use an "item" actor. There are some reasons you can't do this but until you find one, go with it.

    Hi Tatiang!!

That video helped me a bit. the problem is when generating the attributes for the doors. the generator can generate the same number twice. because the random generates a random number that can be generated before the same number. I do not like to use the timer because I do not know how the application can be slow, because the idea is to show 120 separate ports of 3 on 3. if gamesales had an instruction of "if" and "else" or "for." I would do it quickly!

It does have an if/else construction. It's the Otherwise section of a rule.

For loops must be done with a timer.

thanks, for you help. i will try use timer.

you know if they will develop more behaviors and if we, mere mortals can help with that??

@Gamerboy, I don't have any insights into if or when GameSalad staff might add additional behaviors, but since I joined a year ago they've added numerous behaviors and features (e.g. Tables).

You can help by making feature suggestions.
