Tried to test my iPad app via the iPhone GS Viewer

I have finished my first iphone app conversion to the iPad App and although it all seems to work fine on the web preview I thought I would see what happens if I run it through the iPhone GS viewer... (i know I know!!!!)

1. When I run the GS viewer the large GS logo comes up, but when the next screen the GS loading preview, its all upside down. Although I can turn the iphone upside down and it all auto rotates, my concern is that, is the FIRST GS logo upside down or is my game upside down??????

2. Also although the ipad app is 1024x768 it all shrinks down to the iphone screen size so appears good for testing, but none of my buttons appear to work - should I be worried as they work on the web preview and they previously all worked when in the original iphone app?

Don't worry be happy. Testing an ipad app on an iphone will get you more precise performance values, but the touch areas aren't the same values because the project is shrunken down.

To test on the iPad simulator, you will need the latest SDK and install the viewer on the simulator instead of the device. Upper left drop down box. Though it will be really slow. (That would be caused by the simulator, not GameSalad.)

@CodeMonkey: I test on the iPad GSViewer in the iPad Simulator and performance is fairly perky. When I preview in the GS app, it is quite a bit slower.

So if I run it in "shrunken" mode, that will give me a bit more accurate assessment of how it will run on the iPad. Assuming the actual iPad will be a bit perkier than an iPhone 3GS?
