Not sure how that is competition. In what aspect?

    Mac vs Windows PC?

A Developement standpoint? Doubt that more than 5% of that number (if even %1) will be utilizing any type of developement software that would place them in competition with our endeavours.

1%, eh? So you'd only be talking 400,000 items in competition...! :P

Yep, these aren't developer licenses. These were the first month sales/upgrades for Windows 8. In other words, 40 million potential new game players. :-)
