How to create animations

Hi, I want to know what program you use to create your animations, actualy I'm using photoshop, but I noticed that is not the best option.
So, What program do yo recomend me to use to create the characters and animating them later?
Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Chile.
Thanks, Nicolás.

i would use AdobeFlash for this. However a really good software is Toon Boom, you can export your whole animation as .png images and then animate them through GameSalad....

it is expensive but you can get the trial and have a fiddle...,

You can even use photoshop, for games unless 3d you do not need more than 10 - 12 frames for an animation. Miminum 4. This can be easily done in photoshop. I am currently doing the basic animations in photoshop. The best part Is there are millions of photoshop tutorial available.

Yeah, but... my actors are persons and the actors are square so I have problems when they collide. Will toon boom fix this?

ToonBoom will not do any code/physics related work for you it is pnly a visual tool. Gamesalad is where you will have to deal with collisions etc. If your characters are square that will work well with square bounding boxes used in GS (by default) along with our physics settings.
