well technically speaking, I'd say its maybe possible. But its probably complex though.

Well as much as people would like to say anything is possible :)
Building and moving is quite complex and requires a lot of rules ect

However having a Time frame is also difficult and does require a lt of smart brains as GS can not run your app when it is closed so you need rules to check time since last access ect

You currently cam not have a server In which you visit other friends farms or attack them.

Also noticed you mentioned the top 20 grossing apps currently ect. :)

So overall, no, not to the image your properbly thinking of, some aspects may be possible with a lot of work but on a whole no,

    That's just my opinion:)

You can make a game similar to those, as in you can have a standalone "farm" system which accesses the system time to determine growth (thus "keeping track" offline). However, you will not be able to access other user's creations. Additionally, this is a fairly complicated game type, and it might behoove you to try something simpler while learning the software. Learning the software on a complicated game can be quite frustrating.

Wow , this thread is so negative! Does the pro package include access to a server time? How reliable is system time? Can't that be hacked in some cases. I think the answer to our question is.
How accurate of a time and date can we measure. If this can be falsified then an over populated community of hackers would destroy you. Any one with a pro account ?

Wow , this thread is so negative!
Did I miss something? I guess I don't read any real negativity. People were just answering the initial post. It's also a year-old thread so some things may have changed since then.
Does the pro package include access to a server time?
Yes and no. There is no built-in feature that will give you that information but with the newest "nightly build" available to pro members, you can send/pull data from servers so theoretically it's possible. In fact, someone was just discussing it earlier today... you can read through the last few posts here: http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/64039/creating-your-own-asynchronous-server.
How reliable is system time? Can't that be hacked in some cases.
Not reliable if someone wants to mess with it. If you change your device's clock and the game is built around using game.Time (the device clock), then you're out of luck. Most people here just accept that that's the way it is.
How accurate of a time and date can we measure.
Accurate. I have a template (see the link in my signature below) for a virtual pet that keeps track of elapsed time between launches of the app. Other people have built timer apps, calendaring apps, etc.
If this can be falsified then an over populated community of hackers would destroy you.
OMG!!! Sorry, it just sounded so negative. ;) I guess if it's a big concern then it might not be what you're looking for but people here are pretty clever and very helpful when it comes to coming up with solutions to tough problems so you might try your luck and strike up a few more conversations around here.
