Hey guys,

I have the winner listed below along with second and third place prize. All entries were great so thanks for making this contest another great success! If you have any questions on judging or the contest feel free to shoot me an email :) All winners of the contest should contact maxb@gshelper.com to claim your prize.

1. @ColorplayGames - Your advanced code work and attention to detail for the little things is what made your project stand out among the rest. Your great art is what made you a real winner! Congrats on a great job!
2. @Riffel - Your awesome idea and funny gameplay was the perfect use of the theme Winter Wonderland.
3. @wickedsunny - Your great art design as well as the ability to turn that into a fun looking game is what earned you a place in the rankings!

I look forward to seeing what else you all come up with and thanks again to everyone! I can't wait for our winter contest!

Cheers
Max

Ahh! Wow! Thanks guys! So glad you enjoyed my entry! And congrats to @ColorplayGames and @Riffel too! Well deserved guys!

@DeadlySeriousMedia - Thanks man! I think I will be releasing this one on the app store.

Everyone did such a great job on this contest! It takes a lot of time and energy to create a game in a week. You all are winners. Congrats to you, too!

    Thanks again!

Any chance of posting videos of the three winning enties in this thread for those that missed it? Also, sorry if I am confused here, isn't Braydon part of GSHelper, or is that another Braydon doing the video tutorials?

@bazookaTime - good call, I didn't want to be the first to post on this, but it smells like a Blue Peter competition in here.

    Hey guys,

So I’ve actually updated the winner’s list. The reason I have done this is because people were asking why Braydon placed, as he is apart of GSHelper. Even though he had zero involvement in the theme or judging, users have still said it wouldn’t be fair for him to place as he does our videos and emails over at GSHelper. While this is unfortunate, I’ve talked about it with him and he understands. Therefore, If you entered the contest, please check the updated rankings to see the new results. Thanks for your understanding everyone!

    Cheers
    Max

Lol, this is a bit weird. Thanks Max.

Maybe from next time Max you can put some rules upfront, so there is no controversy of any sort later and we all have a healthy contest.

Normally the site/company members of the contest organisers cannot participate In their own contest but then this contest is for fun and for the forums only.

If rules are made that any one can participate including gshelper members, then its not going to create any problems later.

Braydon's game was simple and awesome though

Wow! Thank you so much, I am really honored and excited, and of course congrats to @Riffel and @wickedsunny as well! I'd love to share a little bit more about my game, the game jam forum thread was closed before I could post any screenshots :)

The game is (tentatively) titled "The Princess & the Yeti", and is a runner game wrapped in a fairy tale story. The player progressively unlocks more of the story by accumulating more distance in the game.

There's a brief gameplay video here:

Sorry dropbox seems to stretch the video out, but if you download it and watch it at the right resolution it won't look so darn blurry.

While I did the coding and graphics, I want to give a major hand to @floydianspiral for the amazing song he put together for this game. He somehow managed to intertwine 8bit awesomeness with some fairy tale magic and I'm just completely in love with the music. If any of you ever need audio, he's your guy!

Thank you again so much! I'm planning on putting a few weeks of polish into this and then releasing it on the app store so I'll definitely post when I do that!

That's awesome, congrats Jenna...glad to be working with such a talented dev. Congrats to @Riffel and @wickedsunny as well, it was fun watching this thread progress! As for the Yeti sound effects Jenna...I wish I was this guy:
Like Jenna said, if any GS devs need custom audio or sound design for your games let me know: www.floydianspiral.com

If I have to judge than I would suggest @Braydon_SFX as winner. @ColorplayGames did good job with game play but there are lots of free demos and games are available and
logic and coding side @Braydon_SFX game is more advanced. I dont think changing winner names after announcement is good idea. Anyways next time there are some rules required. Very disappointed with GSH7 computations compare to previous one.
