A fair warning for website owners

I have a fair warning for website owners, do NOT post the direct link to the website on Gamesalad. I just got word from my domain register saying I have been black-listed from Google, this means my website will never show up on Google. After doing some research I found out it happens if there are several links to your website on the web and high traffic going through that link. So I recommend everyone not posting the link to their website, and use other means such as linked pictures.

How did you post the link on GameSalad?

Can you provide links to the research you mentioned?

Yeah, I think you may need to do some more research. High traffic links are very common place. Is your website complete? It may be that Google thought there was too much traffic going to a website that appeared to be malicious.

Yeah, let me ask you this. In this email from "Google" did they offer to sell you anything to restore your sites presence, or did they show you anything in the email that was available for purchase? Like the others said, Google wouldn't do this for posting the link on a forum. My gut feeling is that there's a spammer involved here..

    Cheers

Firstly, my day job is within SEO so i can tell you now a link from the gamesalad site would not get you a ban from googles index. If anything, if the link was followed it would be beneficial and improve rankings.

The email is most likely spam. Do a quick test and type the following into google:

    site: www.yourdomain.com

Obviously replace the www. above with your website. if a bunch of pages are returned then you are still indexed in google.

To be banned would require google finding you breaking their terms with things such as paid links or obvious spammy links.

If you do not have a webmaster tools account set up then i'd suggest doing so as its free. Google will alert you if there are any issues with your site. Also set up google analytics on the site too to analyse traffic data.

You could use googles disavow tool to remove unwated and potentially damaging links. See this article http://www.seomoz.org/blog/googles-disavow-tool-take-a-deep-breath

Although i'd not recommend doing it unless you really understand what you are doing and have performed a full site audit on your backlinks as they may not be doing you any harm.

if you really have been banned from the index, clean up any bad links and then submit a re-inclusion request to google via webmaster tools.

Hope this helps a little, but I'd say ignore the mail you received as 99.99% probability is spam and ripoff.

If google went arrount black listing sites as such there would be a legal s-storm.

    Not legit.

Hey guys, I have 2 million in marked bills. I need to get it out the country and I need you to help me transfer them when I claim them from the bank. Who's in?

Well you see we also have to buy a special cleaning solution to remove the markings on the bills, its pretty cheap, about 100,000 to wash a million.

@MindBlownApps feel free to contact @SaladStraightShooter or myself with further details -- but be prepared to provide your domain name, your research sources, etc.

I'm going to go ahead and close this because it doesn't seem verifiable.
