How to clear memory?

I notice when I quit my game to iphone's desktop and re-enter the game.
loading scenes and pause game scenes are slower.
If I double tap the iphone home button and cleared the game's memory, the game would restart and runs normally.
Also when I use the reset game behavior, the slow effect is still here.
Any tips on making sure nothing is holding memory or continuing building up memory even not playing?
