Sound stuttering when BG music is playing

Hi all,

I have a problem with some sounds, when they are triggered and BG music is playing they are stuttering.
I already looked on the forum but didnt found the right answer. The music is an AAC file and the sounds are MP3 format.

Does can explain what's the best solution?

Thanks!

Hi, a wild guess, that's it's the AAC file "stealing" audio processing... mp3 files should be OK, but AAC files could cause problems when it's "translated" into mp4 for Music. (Second guess, your mp3 files are slightly different than standard, or encoded in a way that GSC can translate efficiently.)

Hopefully a solution would be to use straightforward files without any special coding or compression, like aiff or wav for either sounds or music; either of these will translate with no problems into mp4 and ogg as needed. So first thing to do, I'd suggest, is change the AAC file (and/or the mp3 file) into an aiff or wav and reimport and replace into GSC. Fingers crossed that'll sort it for you.

Thanks for the advice! I will try it as soon as possible.

Out of interest, do you have the Android SDK installed?

Is this a better solution? I assumed compressing the audio yourself would help. Are we saying its truly beneficial to import uncompressed audio into gamesalad and let it compress for us? I'd love to know, thanks! :)
