How many sounds files can we have in one scene?

Hi,

I'm interested in creating a music game and was wondering how many music/sound files I could have in one scene. I am looking to have upwards of 5000 sound files would this be possible?

    There will actually be a limit, of RAM usage, depending how long the sound samples are and how many are playing at once... but if not so many a playing at once (which would still be quite a few without a problem but no where near 5,000), there's still the issue of file size.

    Another consideration: say each sample is 100kb each on average, you're talking about almost 500mb for just the sounds alone....

    Can you explain why you need so many sounds? (Other than trying to get into The Guinness Book of World Records... ;-) )
