Full Game in 1 scene, or separately?

Hey guys,

I'm nearing completion of my first game, that's level-based. I now know that if you cram more stuff into one scene, you can get it in with the same loading wheel. My game has a main menu, world select, and level select, adn of course many levels each on its own scene.

I will almost certainly be combining my menu scenes into 1, but what I'm asking is should I combine everything into 1 scene, as the player will be going to the next level, or the level before, or back to the menu, and soon it may become very annoying to see that pesky loading wheel.

So is it worth the time for me to go back and convert everything to one scene, or is the initial loading of the 1 scene+my time not worth it, and users don't really care too much?

All thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,
Chakku

Loading one giant scene is gonna take time...maybe 2 or 3 scenes total to ease the gameplay

I created Knight's K'west in one scene and it works fine. Took about 5 seconds to load into that scene. However, it probably took my three times as much time to set that all up. So it's time or speed.....However, don't forget about the new engine - what that comes out, we probably wont need everything in one scene. :-)
