So, i've been trying to execute some games these past couple days. I've tried an RTS game, an RPG style game and i finding them fairly difficult to make. I've been browsing the app store for ideas on some games that i could make, I just can't seem to find a game genre that gamesalad would do really well. Am I wrong, is there something I'm missing about gamesalad?! help!

also don't forget that a lot of the time simple games are the ones that get to the top of the charts, i.e. fall down or papi jump

There are a ton of little pocket web game websites out there. The games are really simple and some are really good. Don't worry about what genre they will fit into at the beginning...just search for a simple and unique game that you think you can build in GS.

The game I am working on currently I discovered in such a way. It was a great game concept...just poorly executed...so we "stole" the idea...reworked it and enhanced it some. hopefully we will have a winner in a couple of weeks when its finished.

I spent about 6 hours one evening playing about 100 games...then settled on about 6 or so good ones...played those a little more and picked the one I thought would perform the best with touch controls (instead of a mouse).

There are SOOOOOOO many little home-made games out there...just gotta look around a while...many of them would make a great iPod game.

Don't use the appStore for the source...find the ideas elsewhere and use the appstore to see if it already exists...if it does...ask yourself...can you do it better? Is it selling? How many are there like it?

If its not on there...go for it!!! Make it great...Title it well and you might have a successful app!
