Our celebrations started early this year, last night when we had some friends round for food and a game of poker, the poker finished at 11 but we all stayed up chatting till 4am.

Well done to my better half Claire who knocked us all out and won £50 :)

Today were off round friends for a good old english breakfast to cure the fuzzy heads then were all going out for dinner and then down the local pub to have a karaoke sing song to bring in the new year.

Whats everyone else doing to bring in the new year?

Any new year resolutions?

Darren.

Going to a party with friends - too much food, too much alcohol and still batteling a stupid cold that's not coming or going - it will be fun :)

Resolutions.... mmmh... tough one... but I would like to make one good game next year and finally write a book...

    PS.:
Why am I not surprised to see you get beaten by Claire AGAIN... ;)

Hey Darren, my wife Susan and I are going for a meal at The Green Man, a creaking beamed pub about 3 miles from us, then off to my niece and husband's house to see the new year in.

New Year Resolutions: completely finish 5 or more of my GSC projects by the end of the year (at least 3 are relatively small projects so it should be doable) ; and write every day, at least 300 words (so-called creative writing), something I should have done years ago....

So to make these two aspects happen, become more self-disciplined in time-sharing between them every day.... so we wait to see...

Happy New Year to you, one and all; and Best Wishes for the continuing success of Deep Blue Apps. :-)

Most likely out on the town getting drunk with some friends. Happy New Year!
  • Going to dish out 2+ games this year is the plan. Have the team, 2 solid ideas, and hopefully more will come to mind. Also I plan to learn Java this year, and expand to learn other languages such as C++. Anybody know the best way to learn Java (not JavaScript, just Java) online (tutorials or an online course)? Or is it best to do it through a community college?

Ah! Happy New Year to everyone! Been gone for almost 10 days for the holidays - glad I'm back!

    Resolution:

    - Release more games than I did this year.
    - Have each game be better than the one before it.
    - Become more knowledgeable with this tool so I can continue to give support to those who need it.
    - And maybe become a millionaire ;)

Not sure about that last one. :D

I didn't have much of a party, as I'm just 14 and can't drink or play poker. But my resolutions would probably be:
To buy myself a new iMac with money from my games (Haven't spent any yet, and I've had 2 #1 hits)
    Get better at art.
And maybe start a 3d game series for OUYA, PC, Mac, iOS, Android and Windows Phone (Possibly using Unity or something)
Hope all you guys have a great new year!
    Harry
