Hate to not be very helpful, but this is not the best place to get artists. I know a place full of artists looking to help in any way. I suggest you create an account on Deviantart and ask the people there to help you. Trust me. You won't be disappointed.

I really suggest you take my advice!
    Take it, Carter!

I was a deviant, and trust me. They help.
    ...in fact...

...maybe I can be of service. Just tell me what it is you need. :)
    It depends.

@Jasyn .. It may not be the best but there are some damn good artists around here. Depending on what style you want @SpriteAttack and @Dhondon are two off the top of my head that are awesome.

    Oh.
I had no idea. I thought we all were just programmers. :)
    Guess not.

gee.. that don't sound like a plug at all.. /:)

Im sure that a fair percentage of GS users (and users of other similar game builders) are more artists than programmers. GS helps us get around the need of the advanced programming skills.

    @Jasyn

Got any examples of published games that where made for free with help from hobbyists at Deviantart?

You usually get what you pay for.... but maybe Deviantart-artist are the exception;)

@dhondon - I totally agree... there is more than a fine line between 'free art from friends and hobbyists' and art done by a professional with experience who knows what he/ she is doing.
With the market being well and truly over-saturated and the need to really stand out visual to even get people to try your game much less buy it, the call you make on the art direction and art style is becoming more and more important. If the style does not connect with the main-stream audience the chances for good sales are very slim. Saying that - good art is no guarantee for decent sales either - it's a game of luck but you can tip the odds a little in your favor if the product you are putting out there is the complete and polished deal - good game with good art and good sound/ music.

Enough of my rambling... good luck with your next project!

    Hello.

I'm a game artist. I'm not looking for any partnership projects at the moment as I already have one on the go, plus I'm looking to try doing a game myself now that I have found gamesalad, but if you are looking to pay then check out my portfolio at info@lookcreativestudio.co.uk and if you like my style, get in touch. I have a very good reputation, work fast, and I'm versatile
