I am a pc user and I can't find ANY IPod game creating program for pc. Even though I can't use this program, I've taken a liking to this website's communty. I just wanted to know if GameSalad were working on a pc version of this program, or if it's even possible/legal. If anyone can help me, that would be great. Thanks.

The problem is that no matter what you use to create, you still need apple provisioning certificates to publish.
which only work with a mac and xcode
rather you use GS or some of the other creators you are still never independent from the iphone sdk 100%

because of that most companies dont bother to make tools for the pc

i for one never thought i would be a mac owner but i picked up a 599 mini and use my pc monitor mouse etc.

after a couple months my custom "super computer" with every bell and whistle now sleeps in the garage

the funny part is this littler basic mac plays games better than my PC did with twice the ram and a superior nvidia graphics card... go figure

    sorry

    :(

Without getting into which is better, if you are looking to develop iphone games, you just have to see the Mac as an investment. Be aware that the ability to make games is certainly not a guarantee to make money from it. Some have tried to use Hackintosh, with apparently decent results, but I sure wouldn't try that.

A mac mini is a great little machine that will fix you up well for working with GameSalad. Good luck!

Go out and grab yourself a MacMini if you dont have a mac, they are cheap and you will be so happy that you did. We would love to have you join in with us.

Yeah it is amtter of which is better

I just meant you need a mac to make iPod games.
And they are cheap and won't regret it

I made my money back really quick from one game and it kind of sucked
but kids liked I guess. Ite kids

One day GameSalad may be on Windows too, but in the meantime, watch the Adobe CS5 launch on Monday. After that you can use Flash to make iPod, iPhone, and iPad games, even on a PC.

As far as i know you still then need to have a mac though to compile and all that.
cant get a distribution certificate on a PC

I imagine its like torque. You can build your entire game on a PC but you need your mac in the end.... that and two years just to build a game menu in torque.

There are tools in Windows that can export the certificate that Flash uses from the one that Apple gives you. In other words, you can definitely do everything just on a PC to make an App from Flash CS5.
