2D/3D Game artist and animator for hire

cartoonscottcartoonscott Member Posts: 78
Hello

I will be using GameSalad to make my own games as soon as I have it figured out, but I am also a freelance designer, so if anyone is in need of vector or png graphic designs, or flash swf/ png animation frame sprites send me a message. You can see plenty of my work at www.lookcreativestudio.co.uk I can provide both 2D and 3D art and animation

I see other people advertising their work for hire, so I assume that this is allowed, if not, I do apologize and please do remove this thread

Best regards

Scott

You can just add a html statement:
    < img src=" url goes here" >

With no the space after the < and none before the >.

This is a character that I am working on for a game in development with a programmer that I know. Still early stages, this is a test animation

This video really just shows off some of my animation, this was for a Kickstarter campaign. Not a game but pilot proposal

Some nice work there. What is your rate per hour?

Usually I discuss what needs to be made and then work out a sensible flat rate, so you know exactly what your paying. However, my hourly rate is $30 2D and $40 for 3D art and animation, however, I am a quick worker. All of the designs above were done in a day, two on the animation, a day for content, day to animate

@cartoonscott Very nice stuff, Scott; the viking monster is particularly impressive, I think. :-) You certainly know what you're doing, as they say!

Best of luck with using GameSalad, as well as commissions; oh, and welcome to the Forums. :-)

Thanks. I'm discussing right now with my design partner what sort of game we should try making. I think his ideas are a bit more ambitious for our first forage into game design. I'm thinking a classic mario (2) style platformer with a funny USP and great graphics

It makes sense to start with the less complicated types of games, agreed; GameSalad Creator is deceptively simple in lots of respects; learning progressively with more ambitious projects each time is far more beneficitial in the long run, I think. (Jumping in the deep end too early and encountering frustrating problems can really take the enjoyment and patience factor from you early on).

I've got a sister who is very keen to join me and her other brother in creative design, so I'm thinking this might be a good introduction into game design

GSC is a great way into the world of game and app creation, for certain, as there's no coding involved (although some experience with programming would be useful).

Here's a list of links for resources which might help: (credit to @SlickZero who collated these links in another thread)

Thanks for those, most appreciated. I've just been checking out the Marketplace. I'm thinking about getting a template to begin with for our first game. Find something then update it with some ultra cool graphics and some animated cinematics and add a fun USP

What I would love to find is a template, or tutorial, on how to make a Cannon Fodder style game

Good stuff! You probably already realize this with flash not showing on iPad/iPhone but most of your site content doesn't show on your site in the white area (not white on iPad) where the flicker should show. You should gets some plain old jpegs up there to display your fine works.
