    CS2? (:|

It's so old you are bound to have more issues (compatibility working features) than productivity.

Rosetta is one thing (not mine), but if you have an old Mac laying around, why not.

Seriously? Gee, now why would someone own and copy that is not legit?
So most folks that are doing legitimate game development and multimedia production use pirated software (or are you just addressing the kids and financially challenged)? Sorry @waymanharris, but a business (smaller), LLC, DBA, Trade name or otherwise don't play that game for a bounty of reasons. Assuming that the majority of folks have pirated software or support that type of thinking is not cool.

"There are a lot of perks to owning official Bundles like that, and some neat tricks I cant disclose as well. "

Yes they do, but old legacy suites with zero support do not. I own several software suites (registered to my name or company name), but the "tricks" you mentioned have me concerned. If you are in the biz (or support) of cracking and torrenting you may have just lost major points.

Not making an attack at you, just that statement. It does not sit well with me. I was/am against PIPA and a SOPA and have been involved in various groups that have taken action against them, but Piracy in this form, drinking from the well and giving nothing back in return is where I draw the line, especially if you are or seek to profit from it.

    @waymanharris

No need to run away, or pooh-poohing me off as ill behaved, as I said I was not attacking you. I did assess your words. I do know that the now-ancient software you are linking to is free or as you word it "legit", however your statement about everyone torrenting or having illegitimate software stands as is. It's all about context.

If you need to/would like to clarify, do so. Shutting the door on people as such, does not say well.

It was a mistake on their part...too good to be true. As old as it is, free was just too good to be true :(

On behalf of Adobe Systems Incorporated ...

You have heard wrong! Adobe is absolutely not providing free copies of CS2!

What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don't require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available. (Special serial numbers are provided on the page for each product download.) See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1114930.

You are only legally entitled to download and install with that serial number if you have a valid license to the product!

I recently tired to upgrade my Creative Suite from CS4 to CS6 . . .

I checked and the upgrade was $960 (£590) - not cheap considering my CS4 was only a couple of years old, but I could just about justify it / stretch to it.

But . . . when I went to upgrade I was directed to the UK website where the price for the same upgrade from the same copy of CS4 to the same copy of CS6 was $1623.67 (£999) !!

    I didn't upgrade.

@socks - I had pretty much the same experience in Australia and decided not to upgrade and instead look for free to use alternatives or get by with the older versions I own. It might be perfectly legal to charge if fervent prices in different zones but I find it highly disturbing and ethically wrong as the cost of the initial content should be the same the world over. Sadly Adobe is not the only company with this kind of practice.

... and a free cs2 sounded too much like April fools to me... Not from Adobe - a company known for their extremely pricy upgrade policy.
