Market App on Google Play

Hello,

I read an article yesterday tha google play will reach the million app .... I guess this can be true because they do not really check what you are releasing as Apple. Saying this, I have release a new game on the google play and I am facing the following:
- The apps is not push in any new release folder and you need to know the name of the apps to get it ...
- I do not understand how the apps in a given category (free or paid) are ranked? Any ideas?
- And finally if the ranking is made based on number of download we have a great chance to be invisible.... and the ROI is 0.

Do you have considered above point yourself and do something on the top to have more visibility.

Thanks in advance
Regards
Tran

I currently have 2 apps on Google. Yes, there is a saturation problem, soooo many apps and you are just 1 of them.. The Key to getting noticed on Google is Exposure. Get reviewed! Start a facebook page, get on someones Ad list. Ranking in Google is almost solely based on Downloads. Under the logic 'If people are downloading it, it's doing good'. from that result, THEN the star ranking comes in.

I am not an expert in how to manage what I have written here without paying out some money (otherwise I'd be doing better myself). An app WILL be, as you put it, Invisible until you Make it Visible outside of Google..

    Hello,
Thanks for your comment. Exposure is key but how, when you are an independent company, we have barely marketing budget to promote the apps and what really works may be the networking when you do not have money. Do you have someone in mind that can review the apps and create such visibility outside the GP store?

well, like I said, I am not an expert (otherwise I would have more than 12 downloads for my productivity app), nor do I know your friend/business connections. But I would try opening a page on facebook and other popular networking websites, then share the hell out of it (I have yet to do this myself). Then send emails to every website which produces reviews and see what their Review Request process is.. some are free.. some cost money..
