I am thinking about if its a good idea, to make up a Game Jam.
I think it will cost 5$ to participate, and there will be some good prices to win.
Ideas for participate.
- The game have to be builded with either of this 4 engines, Stencyl, Gamesalad, Scirra or GameMaker
www.stencyl.com
www.gamesalad.com
www.scirra.com
www.yoyogames.com
- There have to be 1 or more balls in the game.
- The game have to be in 'Spring' theme (The season Spring).
- It have to be a shooter concept game.
- There have to be a little tutorial in the game or instructions for what buttons to use (Arrow keys, etc).
Every one can participate in the Jam, either they are using free versions of the engines, or paid versions.
We don't have to get any source code, thats your own, just a playable version of the game, not iOS or Android, it have to be playable on a Mac or a Windows computer.
You may not use anything other have been making, like behaviors, graphics or sounds.
The game have to be started on the day the game jam is starting or after it have been started, you may not start before time.
You will have about 2-6 weeks to make the game, this isn't sure at now, have to hear if its a good idea or not.
Please leave constructive feedback or say if its a good idea or not.

The engines are wide different from each other YES, but if you know your engine, you can make someway the same game in all engines. There are not HUGES differences from the engines, i could understand if it was for Unity3D, UDK and Gamesalad, that would not be fair in anyway, but with these 4 engines, it would be someway fair
Not trying to be an ass, but you wont see any threads on Corona forums about a GameSalad Game Jam, or anywhere else for that matter.
I'm still on the fence about it.

But hey thats just my 2 cents. Before promoting any Game Jam on this forum though you most definitely need to get GameSalads Blessing. Especially since you are planning to require a monetary contribution to enter. I have a feeling they will not be all to crazy about such a contest.
Cheers

I am not sure if thats a good idea, it would make the game jam for only the ones who know their engines very good, and not for newcomers, they can't make a game in 2 days
There are 2 different ways to do it. Get sponsorship or take a fee for entering.
But some people on GameMaker Forum are also complaining about the idea, but no one on stencyl or scirra.
As people say it maybe would be better to make the game jam for each engine BUT, that would just require many prices and many sponsors.
