On/off and changing scene

So, I have created an on/off button for my music that's under my options scene. When I turn the music off (also changing image to off) and go back to my menu scene the music is still off an everything works. But if I go back into the options scene again my off button is now on, but music is still off. How do I solve this? :P

    what level is your on off switch? Game or Scene?

    I was just taking a shot. I have put attributes on scenes and then wondered why when I switched scenes, they didn't count..
