Polygon- Native Code Dependant. Ok .. until then...How....

Since we wont be seeing Polygon Collison for a long time. And I say "a long time" because. 1: We have to wait for Native engine code to be released. 2: When it is released that doesn't mean all features that are Native Code dependent, will be ready when it comes out. 3: Polygon collision didnt seem that important to a lot of the PRO users in the recent mail poll that help set the setting for the new Roadmap..

So until then, I have created this diagram to better understand what we do have in our current version of creator in regards to collision boundaries and how they work exactly.

Below are 7 examples. Some are correct and some are incorrent. Which is which?

And what are the current "WORK AROUNDS" for the best collide illusion with a image like #7.

    The only thing to do is wait i suppose. I have put off a couple games until they come out with polygon collisions. No point in doing a ton of work to have the features that makes it simple come out in a couple of months.

    1, 2 and 6 are correct.

    As far as work arounds, I wouldnt use them for moving objects. For stationary things, you can get away with combining a lot of objects to make complex ones. But I've seen objects using the Constrain solutions get pulled away from their parents because of perfomance issues.

    ok I should have made a inner circle for number 3. so the circle is made for the smallest circumference?

    Yeah me too. And I can't see how people would think Polygon Collision isn't that important. I see alot of games that could be made. But really cant. Just because certain style of images cant be used do to poorly working work arounds.

    Alot of my ideas have been squashed because of this. But Im only 1 person... And people have spoken.

    No clue what that means !? 8-X :)



    It's the biggest circle that can fit within the actor.
