Null? Why does this keep happening? Please help! :/

Hey guys,

So all I do is preview the scene, then something critical does not function.

So then I look into the actor to see what's wrong. Then GameSalad tells me my Change Attribute behaviors were 'null'.

So I redo all of them (this takes about 2-3 mins), and then hit preview. It works fine that time.

Then the next time I hit preview, the same problem happens all over again.

I doubt it will break my game when I publish it...but it's annoying to have to fix this every other time I hit preview :(

Thanks for the help
Chakku

    Hi Chakku. This happens to me a lot but only when I copy actors on the scene. Instead try to drag the prototype from the actors window (top left) if possible.
    I am prettty sure it is a bug that has been in GS for a while.
    I hope that helps.

    Another thing that happens is when you make a copy of a prototype of an actor with custom attributes. Then in the copy delete the custom attributes it also deletes the attributes in the original. That also leads to null values. Its not the same as what you mention but just a heads up.

    @LudwigHeijden

    Thanks for the input.

    Actually, I'm noticing it mostly happens when I close the project and reopen it.

    At the moment, it is unclear of why this happens :/

    I will try to keep this thread updated, and will try your solutions to see if they work.
